America's Way Paving

The owner Nick was quick to answer my call about the job, which was to seal my driveway. There was one crack in the driveway that he said he could fill before the sealant and sold me an upgrade on the sealant. After sealant applied, it congealed & cracked on the apron. Also, crack midway in driveway still open. He said wait a few days & he will re/do. He did, with same result. Now he said wait till spring to remedy it. It was written on my receipt that he would return in spring. After Many calls since April , I got Consumer Affairs involved. He ignores the case & says none of this is true. STAY away from this business. He took the $ and disappeared. Customer is Not a priority.

When John first came to give an estimate I told him exactly what I wanted done to build a new driveway and parking pad for three cars. Also to cut out two rows of asphalt already there. Instead the driveway his people(day laborers) put in was sloppy and made a mess all over the house and backyard. There was asphalt debris every where including black tar on the house and back porch. His so called professional employees tore through three posts on the porch, and buried left over asphalt under a mountain of dirt. His crew dug up a clean out pipe connected to the main sewer, this took waste water away from the house, they cut the pipe then stuffed it with rocks. They then covered the pipe with asphalt and tried to hide it. We had to hire a plumber to come and rip up the new driveway, break through the obstruction in the clean out pipe, reinstall a new pipe and then repave the area. I had contacted John several times to come and redo the area that was opened but he kept postponing it.
Additionally I later found that he and his team did not pave the area as we had originally agreed and found that he shortened the area by 600 square feet. He had done this by paving a skewed to the property line as opposed to parallel to it and then finished the parking pad area at an angle as opposed to a perfect straight line to form a boxed area. In the end we had to pay for a dumpster to come and collect the debris which he absolutely refused to pick up. And a landscaper to come and level the back yard. I later found out from a neighbor that he had day labors come and work for him and that they knew nothing about the work they had to do. It was a nightmare that cost us over $2,500 to correct!!!
