Great view of the NYC skyline. Nice place to go down to see the fireworks on the fourth of july.

The Alice Austen House sits on the bay of Staten Island and is tranquil and beautiful. You can browse the rooms of the home which still contain some wonderful antiques and original cameras of the time. The photography of course was amazing and there are also some from other artists. but Alice's stood out. I roamed the grounds and admired the gardens along the trails.
The best part that we kept doing again and again, was walking into the "livingroom" and taking in the breathtaking view of the bay from the glass doors. You just felt a nice cool breeze greeting you each time.
Everyone should take the time to enjoy this. Only $3 donation, but no-one bothers you to contribute.

Located at the end of Hylan Blvd by the water near Fort Wadsworth is a museum dedicated to promote public awareness and scholarly study regarding the life and work of Alice Austen, one of America's earliest and most prolific female photographers. There are workshops in photography that are held over the weekend for those interesting in photography. Just check their schedule.

My favorite museum in NYC- a must if you have the slightest interest in history, feminism, LGBT, photography, or an appreciation for beautiful scenery.
