Alaris Health at Belgrove

This place is the worst! My grandfather was here twice and the care went from poor, the first time, to absolutely atrocious the second time. The nurses and aides were inattentive (always on their cell phones) and anytime I asked them to do something for him, they made it seem like I was inconveniencing them. When I would ask questions about why there were doing something (the place got his diet wrong so many times I lost count) - they would tell me not to worry. Uhh hello, yes I'm worried, you guys make far too many mistakes! My grandfather, who is of sound mind, started having random bruises and contusions that appeared on his arms and legs, and no one could tell us where they were from, not even him. And the place is dirty, like very dirty. The bathrooms that visitors are allowed to use are rarely cleaned, and the pantry - vom. I visited on a regular basis and the same poop on the floor that I notified staff about had not been cleaned. I was told that the cleaning service had off so it would have to wait.

DO NOT SEND YOUR RELATIVES HERE. I am so glad we got my grandfather out and will not be sending him back. It's sad because Alaris has a good reputation, just not this one! I will say that I have only heard good things about the physical therapists, and have seen first hand them being kind and patient with my grandfather. Too bad they couldn't be there 24/7 for him and forgo the awful nursing and aide staff!

We had my Mother (age 91) at Alaris Belgrove for about 7 weeks following a fall in her apt. It was "not too bad," but NOT TOO GOOD either......we did not like that dementia patients were on the same floor as "alert/non-dementia" patients, and we saw incidents several times....confrontations between two patients by the elevators....with cursing and screaming... and kicking staff! The patients had their meals by the elevators in an area with chairs and couches....not a good idea at all...we saw patients try to get on the elevator! I also had to complain that an aide was rough handling my Mother while getting her into and out of bed and dressing her...and when she was told about my complaint, she said to my Mother, "Your daughter made a complaint about me!" You are damn right I complained.....if you want to work with the elderly, BE SYMPATHETIC AND CARING! YOU WILL ONE DAY BE ELDERLY! It is definitely better than the Alaris on Bergen Avenue, about a half mile away; my Mother spent 7 months there...it was a nightmare...I also reviewed that facility.

I would like to thank the Registered and caregiving staff for all their hard work and dedication to the Belgrove residents, specifically my grandfather. It gives me peace of mind to know he is well taken care of and happy.

I am very satisfied with my choice- Alaris Health Belgrove location - for long term care for my parents. The entire team is friendly, approachable and works with you to ensure the health and well-being of each resident.

Unfortunately the service is very bad for what they charge the patient’s insurance. It has been my personal experience that the administration has no idea what the social worker is doing and her whereabouts in the facility at Alaris Health at Belgrove. For example, it is virtually impossible to communicate with the social worker Tiffany, she never answers her phone regardless of the time and date you call her, nor bother to return any phone message you leave her, and by noon time her phone answering machine is full and will take no more messages. If you call the nurse station they could never reach the social worker. As for the therapy unit they never seems to put it all together; my father went in at the facility after his surgery and they were given him the wrong therapy, it was about ten days after that my father’s family physician realized after verifying with the orthopedic surgeon that he was not getting the therapy he needed. I end up transferring my father to a physical rehabilitation center in Bergen County where he received the most up to date care and excellent five stars service. My advice is if you have a love one that need physical rehabilitation do your homework and avoid Alaris Health at Belgrove at any cost or you will be sorry.
