Called Air Bound earlier last week to have my plane washed and waxed. It sits outside all year long so once a year I like to have it professionally done. I don't have the time or the place to do it myself, the plane travels all over the country.
Spoke directly to the person who would do the work. Name is Ricky. He said it would be done by Friday and I would be able to fly it today, Saturday. Fine I said do it.
I show up at 11 am this morning, Saturday, and the plane is in the hangar and not washed or waxed and for some reason there are water spots all over it, as if someone started to wash it and then stopped leaving soap and water to dry on it for a long time. And full of dirt. WTF.
Of course Ricky does not answer his phone. But I am there with my mother and we had a great day of flying planned. So I just decided to deal with the dirty airplane later and go fly. After all it is no big deal.
Preflight the plane and find a broken/missing transponder antenna. Again WTF......
Complain to the front desk and was told by the front desk and by line service that they have been having a problem with Ricky the cleaner. I say then why is he working on airplanes,,,after all this is not a grocery store. This is aviation.
The owner of Air Bound, Andy Ferguson calls me back after an hour and we go back and forth with the details and finally he tells me that I should not be so upset, because after all it is "just a Mooney."
Keep in mind this was supposed to be a 525 dollar wax job.......no interior work
