Affiliated Management

I loved my apartment at Ashland Ave in Bloomfield. Super, James and his wife, were great and very helpful.
The Management company however is a nightmare. I needed my Ex's name removed from the lease and was told by Joni there was no way to have it taken off the account. When I told them I would be leaving, suddenly the account could be updated. Now I have moved out of my apartment, and a month and a half later I have not received my security deposit. When I asked for an update Joni tells me she mailed it two weeks ago, to the WRONG address. She has since told me that they will not issue a new check, and if it shows up back in their office she'll let me know. It has been three days that I've been calling and emailing asking for an update and she has refused to answer a single communication. When I reached a receptionist (which took several hours, no exaggeration), Joni refused the call and told the receptionist to just give me a message about the refund.
I've never lost over $1600 of someone else's money, but I guarantee I would be doing a lot more to get it back. It's a shame that these idiots manage such a great building.

Very low vibrational company. My prediction is running a company in this manner; cutting edges where possible, uncaring attitude towards residents, treating residents in disgraceful manner..This company will not be around for long.

Affiliated Management only cares about one thing! They don't fix anything. They don't even give you a chance before you move out to start showing your apartment.

For the last month you live at their apartment buildings should you decide to end your lease, they will have all sorts of strangle people walking through your home showing your place. Mind you, you paid rent for that month but they don't care. They are so greedy they want to have someone living there the day after you move out.

Another thing is the rental office WILL NEVER return your phone call. I had some issues. The electrical outlets didn't work i called and called left messages numerous times but no one called me back. I finally gave up and just waited for my lease to be up.

Security Deposit. I don't know what kind of management team this is but when i left the apartment i cleaned everything left it in immaculate condition. I get a letter from the bank telling me that they withdrew my security deposit. At the time i received the letter it was 3 weeks after I moved. I still haven't received my deposit and i'm planning on suing them.

STAY CLEAR OF THESE PEOPLE! Had a problem at the apartment, and these people did NOTHING to resolve the issue. They also do not screen their employee managers and supers very well either. Do yourself a favor and stay away from any complex under affiliated managment!

Terrible experience with these people. Good luck getting them to do anything other than cashing your rent check. The only thing they're good at is getting people to vacate after a year so they can replace them with someone paying higher rent.
