We are in room 162 at Adria Hotel. The service is excellent! Breakfast server, Darma, was by far the best. She went over and beyond out of her way to help my family to make us have a good time. Room service was remarkable. When another hotel made a huge mess, cancelled our reservation by mistake, Adria hotel took us in last minute! They saved us from looking around on a 16 degree cold night with three kids. Thank you Adria hotel for everything! Looking forward to see you guys in August again (:

I was very disappointed! The room was small, and smelled like cigarettes, when I distinctly asked for non-smoking room. I made a reservation for myself, wife and daughter, and only received two (2) Linen sets. Also there were no sheet or blanket for the pullout sofa. I was told that the room would have a refrigerator, and I could request a microwave, neither of which were in the room upon my arrival. But they quickly brought both to the room after I ask why they weren’t in the room as promised. My wife went inside to the front desk to make sure that we were at the right entrance while I waited in the car, and the lady at the desk looked up at her, and then back down at the desk never asking if see need any help, until my wife spoke up. The bathroom faucets made an official ringing noise, in the shower, and the tub backed-up as I took a shower, but the shower head a was very nice and new.
The noise from the Police & Fire vehicles, and street traffic, were loud all night. The breakfast was free, but really salty and not hot. The room was outdated and didn’t feel clean. But the bathroom was a little more modern, and cleaner. The parking was free and convent. All and all, it was nothing like the internet pictures portrayed. I was very disappointed, and didn’t sleep well since all three of us slept in that small bed together, and shared towels the next morning. The only bright side was the nice young man at the desk, who was help, kind and courteous.

The most important thing of a hotel is a clean and comfortable room. This applies for this hotel. The service the staff offered was very good. The first night I stayed there after a tiring journey from Amsterdam I asked the staff for a good restaurant (burger king, wendy's and a couple of other fast food chains are just a fews steps away, but I did not want that) and they promptly arranged roomservice for me. Just 15 minutes later a guy in tuxedo showed up to bring me my meal. To get to Manhattan I used public transport. The hotel has a bus stop at its doorstep, but it is faster to use the LIRR from Bayside station. Bayside Station is a 15 minute walk away from the hotel. Traveling in off peak hours by LIRR sets you back $15 dollars a day, but you'll be in Manhattan in abbout 45 minutes. Using bus and metro is cheaper, but takes more time and is not as comfortable as the LIRR trains.

My wife was having major surgery in the area and we were able to get a discount based on that. The staff were incredibly nice and were accommodating for our medical situation. The breakfast was decent with different types of breads, cereals, variety of fruits, scrambled and hard boiled eggs, sausage links, and awesome crunchy hash browns(yum). Additionally, they have a pretty cool coffee machine in the lobby that also makes hot chocolate, and fresh ice cold lemon water. There were a couple of things that kept me from giving 5 stars. First, the parking situation needs to be changed. the entrance is very tight and for some reason there are open spots there that if someone parked there, would be almost impossible to get out. Second, more attention to detail cleaning the restrooms. My first night, the toilet smelled like urine, but the night after were fine. Third, we stayed 7 nights and on the day of check out the front desk clerk walked in our room. She said she knocked and was trying to find out the room connected to another room. ????? Very weird, why not just call the room or look to see on their system if we checked out or knock harder so no confusion someone's at the door. Again, very weird. That said, it was a pleasant and very close to a variety of restaurants.
