Delicious Portuguese food in a white tablecloth setting. Delightfully professional waitstaff of the old school, professional, gracious style.
Portions are copious (to put it lightly), and food comes drenched in good olive oil. If that's not your thing (it's not mine), the kitchen will leave it off.
My grilled octopus with potatoes, braised peppers & onions, and veg (sliced carrots, broccoli, asparagus with garlic) was artfully presented, and the octopus tender.
My friend's bacalhao dish was massive, served on top of rusks soaked in the juices of the dish.
We were thankful that the music (often fado) was kept low, to encourage and allow conversation.
The wine list is expertly presented, with concise, informational descriptions of wine regions; the wine selection itself tends towards larger companies with internationally known names. It would be nice to see some Portuguese from smaller, family-run companies.
Same for the beers.
All in all, a happy place.

Great place to eat. Also has a attached lounge outdoor seating is available in the summer months. The music from the lounge does fill the restaurant but not to the point you can have a good conversation plus the sangria is really good and food is pretty good. It's and all in one restaurant and good bar next to it. Try it you will enjoy.

Food was good, different but flavorful. Service was ok, perhaps because they had too many large groups, great wine selection and good bar. Menus are a conversation piece with metal covers.

We own a professional building requiring dinners with local, distant states and abroad, and Adega restaurant have all you need: Excellent food, plus whatever extra you request, the personal, service, proper relaxing atmosphere, location, parking. We bring our family, friends, business plus recommended to everyone. Ask for Lima as you waiter. Do not miss the Filet Flambe at your table, Chops of Lamb nor the Swordfish.

This place has quickly become our favorite go-to when in the area! The octopus appetizer is the best we've ever had, and the wait staff is attentive and friendly. Wish we lived closer and the prices were lower, but we plan on going back again and again when we're in Newark.
