I've used ACME since I moved into the neighborhood four years ago. They have never ruined anything of mine - however, I only take half of the things I need dry cleaned here. For designer items you should never take them to a neighborhood dry cleaner. Anything over $1000 should go to a place that specializes in that like Madame Paulette uptown. It's a pain but if you spend 3k on a dress you shouldn't be taking it to the same place that does your laundry and daily work shirts. ACME is wonderful for minor alterations and dry cleaning of standard items. The staff is very sweet and always willing to rush something if you're in a bind for no additional charge. I don't usually do reviews but this is my neighborhood cleaner and I felt the reviews below were an unfair assessment of who they are - they are a neighborhood dry cleaner. ( also, they should have a policy to pay for something through their insurance company if something is ruined and you make a claim ) -

I have my laundry done here as well as all of my dry cleaning. So you would think that as such a loyal customer they would reimburse me for a dress they completely ruined. I brought a silk dress there and it came back with large strips of it missing and all buttons broken. The owner then blamed the machine. Ok? Fine. So yes, it was the machine. But it's HIS machine! I deserved to be paid back entirely for the dress. Instead he just kept bringing the conversation in circles talking down to me. This guy who was SOOOO nice eveyr time I brought him money turned into a monster when it came to taking responsibility for his actions. He also lost my laundry bag twice, saying I never had any bag! Additionally, I told him I needed my laundry ASAP and he said no problem. I went back for three days and still it never showed up. I had to go out and buy a new outfit for an event since it was in that laundry. He never offered to even go pick it up at the laundry place. He said that's not how his business works. Irresponsible jerk! DO NOT GO HERE

I took a brand new $2400 silk dress there, plus very expensive and also new silk sheets, and they RUINED both - the sheets came back with large burnt-in marks from an oil and the dress came back with tears at all the seams and burn marks - completely destroyed and unwearable. I had to throw it out. They would not compensate me in any way other than to refund the dry cleaning cost for those items. Using ACME was an extremely expensive mistake.
