Victoria is very talented she did the ombré/balage. I loved the color it came out beautiful I have to admit I was a little afraid when she blew out my hair. My hair is super.curly/kinky. The hair blow out the color came out perfect. Thank you Victoria you made me a permanent client. The salon was also a warm,friendly atmosphere. Everyone was very very nice.
The salon is in Staten Island and I live in Brooklyn for me the commute is worth it. You have a great salon and staff. you are talented and I see you very successful in the future. Thank-you Thank-you again and again.

I also had a Groupon for eyelash extensions with a touch-up. I have had extensions put on twice before at two different places. My experience with Laura at A Cut Above was very good. The groupon with touch-up is a good deal, without this it would be quite expensive (I think around $85) for one set, which would be on the high end of what I've seen. Laura was friendly and knew what she was doing. She was quite quick in her application, and I was out with thick full lush lashes in 40 minutes, after the other ladies in the salon got a quick gander. It has been almost two weeks, and today my first little clump just fell off, so I suppose I should go in for my touch up soon. I have heard different things regarding how long eyelash extensions last, but I wasn't shocked to see one show some wear about ten days in. Eyelash extensions are a splurge, and I wouldn't do it all the time, but it's great for a special occasion, and I definitely got many compliments on my lashes. Thanks Laura, I'll definitely be back!

I bought a Groupon to have eyelash extensions applied by Laura. The first time I went to have them applied, they came out great! I was so happy with how they looked that I have continued to go back and have them maintained for the past two months. I followed Laura's instructions on how to keep my eyelashes in good condition and they have held strong and looked great. I got so many compliments on how my lashes looked, and they stayed so well that I even brought my Mom in to have them done. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, so much so that my Mom made an appointment to have her hair done there, and she lives about an hour away! I'm shocked anyone had a bad experience there because mine has been the complete opposite. Would definitely recommend this salon!!

A cut above is a mother daughter saloon n I too live closeby to this address so went there wid my boys for haircut but my gosh I met the owner and she gave me so much hard time ...first she even didnot know if she had to use the buzzer or the scissors n what buzzer number to use for a toddler ..she used the buzz for five mins and said it is done..I was looking at her face and then she gave me that creepy look like if I donot know anything about my boys haircut and when I complained she said..I should try somewhere else because boys always get same haircut doesnot matter how old they are...I was almost into tears...my 7yrs old boy started crying seing himself in the mirror even I was shocked 2 that how couls she use the buzzer alone and make them look almost bald in winter time when specifically I said a hair style wid scissor n buzzer .I had the worst experience of my life ..I still have my boys pics wid me n still remeber that rude owners behavior...very bad job and very rude satff
