A & J Fireplaces

TERRIBLE SERVICE. HAD PROBLEM WITH MY PELLET STOVE. 3 CALLS FOR HELP, AND NO CALL BACK. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS STORE TO ANYONE.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They were the worst experience of my life. I hired them to do a gas fireplace insert installation and once they got most of my money, they did not care about my job anymore. I prepaid (July 2015) for the fireplace 2 months before the installation (Sept 2015). They had to come back three times for the gas line installation since they could not pass inspection, owner John did the electrical work himself when it was to be a certified electrician (failed inspections until they finally hired an electrician). To make matters worse, they were not really for the installation by the agree upon week of installation. They kept giving excuses as to why the gas insert was not in yet (after prepaying 2 months before installation). When they did the installation, they did not do the co-liner vent installation to code or manufactures installation directions . The exhaust vent was only 3 ft and was venting into my chimney, the fresh air intake did not go all the way up to chimney and was just lying in the chimney. They did not use the correct co-liner vent cap with both vents secured to the vent cap. Luckily due to warm weather I was not using the fireplace yet and if the chimney cap did not fall off of my chimney a few days after installation I would use the fireplace and possible had tonic gas coming into my house. Stay away from this company.

My family and I have been going to A&J Fireplaces since they opened, for all our work which was designed and installed in three separate homes with five fireplaces altogether, they have never let us down. Their professionalism, unique classy design, passion, and expertise for their craft is unrivaled anywhere else, they go above and beyond to make you happy and have the classiest styles for any taste rustic or modern, you name it. I would recommend you and your family to them no matter what project or budget you have in mind! I've told all my friends with fireplaces the same thing, can't beat em. If you want real quality work that will last these are the guys you call.

I had an excellent experience with A and J. They were very helpful and had a lot of choices in gas inserts to fit my fireplace. I loved working with them. I had no problems at all and my installation was one day and done!!! It was great. I highly recommend them.

A & J Fireplaces (John) was very helpful in the store while setting up the job and selecting the fireplace. Once notified that we had the construction permit, three months passed before they did the installation. The installation was done nicely, except for the "...gee we thought you were running the gas line" bit. We had discussed the connection to the gas line in the store at the beginning of the process; should A & J do it or should we have it done by someone else -- we should have A & J do it so that there are no issues with the line being in the correct location for connecting to the fireplace -- and somehow John didn't have any recollection of that. I emailed Ann before the installation telling her specifically where the gas line was located and that we understood that the installation would include connecting to the gas line. Nothing was said differently by them until John was on site.

In the end John wanted $1,200 to install a valve and run 15 feet of gas pipe. We found someone else to do the work.

A & J Fireplaces are nice, disorganized people.
