Wow! My experience is exactly the same as the other reviewers. I was contacted by "Kenny" from 24/7 after putting my info out for some small items to be moved from Wall, NJ to Coronado, CA. Kenny was most helpful, and gave me a quote of $1500.00 to move 3 chairs, a wrought iron table with 4 chairs, some paintings, 2 glass lamps, and a few rubbermaid type boxes. I told him that my 94 year old Mother was selling her home, going to an assisted living facility and was giving me some precious items to keep in the family. He assured me that they are caring movers and would take excellent care of our belongings, and I should not worry. I gave him a deposit of $270.00 to set up the move for June 15th. As I was helping my Mom, she gave me some other small items, so I added 4 more boxes, and a small demi-table. The drivers called the day they were to arrive, and asked if they could come a day later since they were in New England and in a big traffic jam. I told them they could come the next day , it was not a problem. They arrived in a rental truck and that concerned me, but they reassured me by saying that they use the rental trucks to take the goods to their warehouse and that saves the consumer $$. The driver had a strong Jordanian accent and was difficult to understand, and he kept trying to say that we had more than contracted for and called his boss. He said the price would be triple!!! I told him to take my goods off the truck and forget it. He then played me by saying that he would take the risk with his boss and only charge me double the price. I still said no, but my poor Mom told them to do it and and she paid the difference...Kenny, the broker, told me it would take 7 - 10 days to arrive in the San Diego area, so I arranged to fly out and wait for them. After repeated calls that the trucks were stuck in the midwest due to summer storms, etc., and then never answering our calls, we finally told them we were contacting the authorities, and that seemed to work. A driver called my daughter on August 9th, almost 2 months later and told her that he was 2 hours away and would deliver our goods. Well, 4 hours later, 2 men arrived and she called to show me some damaged goods. All of the furniture, except the wrought iron table were gone. The movers said these pieces were not in the warehouse when they picked up. Then, 4 or 5 damaged boxes came in, and they were not ours, they belonged to people in Fairbanks Alaska!!! And yet, some of our small items were in their boxes. All of my rubbermaid type boxes had been ripped open and things were missing. But mainly, all of the expensive chairs, family oil and watercolor paintings were gone! And the most precious small glass chandelier that had been in my great grandmother's home was gone!!! After repeated calls to the Guttenberg office, we were promised that they would find our things. The movers had put numbers on all of our items, yet they could not track anything. Then, no more return calls. We accused them of stealing our things, of being scammers, and they got active again by calling and asking if various items in their warehouse belonged to us, but nothing did. Then, their numbers were no longer in service...We have filed a claim with our homeowners policy and they are requiring that we file a police report with the Guttenberg Police Dept. But we are concerned that they are out of business, and can't be found. Last year I did go online before using them and did not see any of these reviews. If I had, I would never have used them. I can't even tell my poor mom that her precious belongings are gone.

Beware of these SCAMMERS!!!

Sharon M.

Do not use this company!! They lost one of my boxes and my furnature showed up weeks late and was completely damaged.

They initially contacted me through a broker and quoted me a great rate for my cross country move. It seemed too good to be true, but they assured me they are a professional business and trustworthy and wanted to give me a good deal. Their website sucks and there weren't any other reviews avail. I was very accurate with estimating # of boxes and furniture to be moved. I was also moving a Motorcycle with everything else. Spoke to them many times prior to the move to double check things. They were helpful and friendly on the phone initially. So far so good.

During the actual move day they were almost 5 hours late. Once the movers actually arrived they did a good job wrapping and packing things that needed to be repacked to ensure proper protection. Once everything was loaded up the estimate shot up $3K more than the initial quote. I was also completely gouged for the rolls of tape and extra boxes they need to repack a few things. I was charged over $300 for rolls of tape! (ridiculous)

Over a month later of constantly trying to get a hold of them on the phone. They said my stuff will be arriving soon. A driver called me at 8pm the night before and said he would be there in the morning. Showed up late again. They wanted the rest of the money before they would unload anything. I wasn't happy about that. Once they started unloading I noticed a lot of damage and sure enough missing boxes and no motorcycle. Great! The motorcycle never left the warehouse and they couldn't find my other boxes. A few weeks later the bike finally showed up with a dented fender.

It's virtually impossible to get a hold of them. They obv know your # and must screen calls unless you are new customer. I've tried to make a claim but haven't heard anything back (naturally). Hopefully the owners read this and contact me. Bottom line, save yourself $ and a huge headache and go with another moving company.

Worst company I have ever dealt with. Talking about professional movers, after 9 hours delays I get bunch of men who claim to be professional who are way far from that in a budget truck, Price wise you are told a one thing and then get charged triple. I mean 3x the price given literally. Some of my stuff mysteriously disappeared, and some came in damaged. Furniture I cannot reuse because it's broken. The truck that delivered my stuff somehow hit a storm and water got into my boxes and had some of stored cloths and belonging wet and rotten. Lastly customer service doesn't exist. Please chose wisely if you care about your personal belonging

Worst experience of my life.

I contacted 24-7 moving and storage through a broker.

My items were picked up June 25th (Moving RI to MN) and instead of the professional truck I expected a bunch of rude men arrived in a Budget truck and a moving van. They were hours late and I was immediately concerned when I saw the rental trucks.

We were grossly underquoted and they charged us another $2000 over the quote but you don't know any of this until it is on the truck. We had to throw out an tremendous amount of things at the last minute-- they didn't have room on the truck and were going to charge another $1000+ to get the last items on the truck and they wouldn't be able to do it until the next day.

We were initially told the truck would drop our things off in 4 days and we asked to confirm with the driver he said "Who told you 4 days? 2-4 WEEKS if you are lucky" At this point everything we own is on the truck- we were told 4 days and packed our car accordingly. We only had suitcases and an air mattress.

I waited 3 weeks before I called 24-7 and the first woman said "it is on the truck" and hung up. I called two days later and was told "It is on the truck, they had problems in the midwest and will be there in the next few days" I stayed home and waited for a truck that never arrived. They were lying. No one would tell us where our things are.

For the next month they told us it will be there by the end of the week. And when it didn't arrive I would call back and they would say Monday/Tuesday. This continued endlessly. The people were often rude and wouldn't return phone calls when promised.

On August 20th (it had been 8 weeks) I called again and was told now our things have been in storage and they can't find anyone going to MN and our things would be here by the end of September. I completely lost it. That would have been 3 MONTHS. They offered us $200 off for our inconvenience. I told them NO this is not acceptable.

I filed a complaint with the FMCSA over the weekend, called the attorney general, and prepared to hire a lawyer.

I called again on Monday and apparently the complaints worked. They said it the things were finally on a truck and would be here Thursday. We were prepared for this to be untrue and waited.

It was a miracle. Our things finally arrived but it had taken OVER 2 MONTHS... however....

When they started to unload the truck the boxes looked like they had been beaten with a baseball bat. Boxes were upside down- ripped open. There was visible broken glass spilling out of the boxes and our things were mixed in with the other people's things.

All of the boxes were smashed. They broke all out glasses, the furniture was torn and stained. And several large items were simply missing.

The men that unloaded the truck said that the Warehouse were they stored out things was a total mess.

It took over 2 months, endless agony, thousands of dollars more than we were expecting to pay, not to mention the lost hours working waiting for the truck, hours spent on the phone, only to receive broken and missing items that were expensive and had a lot of sentimental value.

This was the worst experience possible. NEVER, NEVER USE THIS COMPANY

they are crooks and totally incompetent.
