I do not live in Atlantic Highlands but someone who does told me to try the place as i am always looking for good pizza - the pizza was great and the owner (at least i think he was the owner) was super helpful and we had a very good customer experience there despite my order difficulties. I would definitely recommend the place.

I live local and have frequented this pizza shop a few times in the past and never had any problems really. Today I decided to stay in and order 2 pies, a chicken parm pizza and a plain pie. The order took over an hour to get to the house and after paying close to $37 dollars for literally 2 pies I came to realize that the plain pie was black on the bottom and clearly burnt and the chicken parm pie which had nothing more than a half a breast of thinly sliced chicken was mushy and falling apart. Also found a hair in one of the slices of chicken parm pizza and struggled to try to enjoy the others afterwards. Strongly disappointed in literally EVERYTHING overall and probably will no longer patronize this establishment.

It is truly sad how some people in this small town of Atlantic Highlands continue to try and bash 1st Ave pizza. There are hundreds of photos of happy customers including some celebrities and politicians and they have made countless donations to local schools, churches as well as $3,000 to the local volunteer first aid squad. This is more than 95% of the other businesses in town have done over the past three years. Hopefully, they do not leave as there is no other quality pizza in town. The only thing "high-end" about the new Italian specialty store/pizza is their prices. Stuffed peppers and fresh mozzarella were average but pricey. Can't say I know anyone who would go and buy their butcher meats, Italian deli products and Italian pastry's at a pizzeria. This new store makes no sense and AH already has 6 pizzeria's, at least 5 sandwich/deli's and the BEST bakery in NJ, The Flaky Tart.
There is absolutely nothing Original about this new pizzeria/deli.
