Orthopedic Richard Seldes is the best knee replacement surgeon .He very professional from before beginning to the end. He make sure, if you have a knee replacement surgery which by the way, it went well.I had everything, including medications , ice machine, toliet chair and walker delivered to my apartment 3 days before surgery.All staff at Manhattan office, and the staff at Northwell hospital, and those who assisted in the surgery room made me feel very welcome, caring, and loving. My knee replacement was a successful one, thanks to Dr. Seldes, you are a God sent. I never had no pain, thank you Jesus Christ. Big shout out to everyone for doing such an amazing job.I got my life back and as I continue on the road to recovery, I can’t wait to dance for my Jesus, my grandkids runinng after them. I’ve been going back and forth with the scheduling department at NYU to see an orthopedist I had seen previously, but my situation wasn’t taken seriously. My life is back on track. NO MORE PAIN! And now I can resume my rollerskating.I'm back. Had right knee done 2-21-2023; left knee done (2-20-2024) a year to the day. This was my 4th surgery with Dr. Seldes. I would NOT use any other orthopedist. He is the best at what he does. I didn't get to see him after the operation or the follow up BUT, his staff follows his instructions to a T. I always follow his instructions on Physical rehabilitation and icing down whatever he operated on. I have never had a problem later with whatever he operated on. My elderly mother sees Dr Seldes and he is a great professional kind and compassionate human being. although elderly people seem to have 100 questions and love to talk not once did he make her feel rushed or ignored. I really did not have a choice when I went to see Dr. Seldes for the knee and lower leg injury I suffered at my job during a bad fall. N.Y. workers comp surgeons and doctors are hard to find in N.J. but I have to say that I am grateful that he is my doctor. His office in Hackensack New Jersey is run like a fine oiled machine. I recently had Dr. Seldes perform a shoulder surgery on me and I am absolutely thrilled with the results to date. I had issues with my shoulder for years and my peers had me convinced that getting surgery would involve a long recovery period, unnecessary pain, and an uncertain outcome. After consulting with Dr. Seldes, he reassured me that he could perform a surgery that was unlike anything my peers had described. Given the pain I was in and decreasing function of my shoulder, I agreed to let him perform the procedure. I had once asked Dr. Seldes "Have you ever operated on anyone more than me"? His response was "No". I think I can attest to his skills. Dr. Seldes has done hip, knee and shoulder arthroscopies on me several times. Each of them was an attempt to save my joints. It worked on 2 shoulders and 1 knee. The other knee and 2 hips could not be saved. Dr. Seldes replaced all 3 with great effectiveness. Dr. Seldes performed number of surgeries on me as an attempt to give me a life back. They all worked and 5 years down the road, when it matters most, my life isn't just back, it's better than ever. My experience was great, Dr. Seldes, my surgeon was straight forward in explaining my procedure, in which I had a total hip replacement. I went into surgery with the expectation of being inundated with great pain but in actuality that was far from the truth. I had some discomfort and sometimes there were short spurts of major pain. My procedure went well and I'm in less pain two weeks post op than I was before my surgery. Dr Seldes is wonderful. He has helped my wife and I to overcome several issues with our arms, legs, hips, back and feet following an incident where we both tripped over non electrical lights that were almost hidden from view at the bottom large towers in a big hall that had marble floors. Then in our most recent visit he immediately know what was wrong with my thumb that had suddenly become unusable, clicked and was very painful. I simply could not use it. He immediately prescribed an injection and it was done that same day in his office. It has now been 5 days and my thumb is back to being so good that I able to use that hand to open a very tight lid on a jar of Bread and Butter pickles. Dr Seldes is great Orthopidic surgeon, I had 2 surgeries with him already and going for the 3rd soon. I never had any complications at all, and I won’t hesitate to go under his knife again. Before my surgery I had pain in my left hip that prevented me from doing things to my full potential. I had trouble doing any type of physical activity, sitting for long periods of time and I couldn’t even sleep because of the pain. This progressively got worse for about 2 years until I finally went to see Dr. Richard Seldes. I have been a patient for over a year now and have just had my total hip replacement. Eight weeks after surgery and I feel like a new person!! The surgery took only a few hours, and my hip has no pain now! I’m so happy I opted to have the surgery and Dr. Seldes was my doctor! Dr Seldes performed total hip replacement on my mother. He took the time to answer all of our questions (we ad a lot of them) and he made us feel at ease. My mother was in so much pain before surgery and could barely walk. After her surgery she had no pain and is able to do ballroom dancing which was a passion of hers that she had to give up prior to surgery. I was having shoulder pain for years and from an old car accident and it got to the point where I couldn’t move my shoulder or sleep at night. I saw Dr. Seldes and he was nice and confidently explained my problem and gave me my options. I liked the fact that he didn’t push surgery right away. I went to Dr. Seldes for pain in my shoulder. I was very worried that I would need surgery but he said it was a slight labrum tear and that with physical therapy I would most likely not need surgery.
